Why it was caught
Mask a file
Text, CSV, JSON, JSONL, Markdown or logs, up to 25 MB. Every value gets the same placeholder everywhere in the file, so the masked file stays joinable and analysable. Nothing is uploaded: the file is read and masked inside this tab.
Masked preview
The vault holds the real values for every placeholder. Keep it like you would keep the original file. You need it to restore.
Restore a file
Have a masked file back from a model or a vendor? Pick it and its vault to put the real values back. Placeholders that were lower-cased, escaped or split by a model are still found.
Saaf finds structured identifiers well. It can miss names without a label, free-text addresses and unlabelled numbers: see the limitations. Want this inside your network? Run the gateway in two minutes.
